María has harbored a passion for handmade crafts since childhood, inspired by her grandmother’s influence. She began exploring and experimenting with various techniques early on, gradually developing a profound interest and unique perspective in ceramics. Continuously challenging herself, she incorporates diverse skills and elements into her ceramic creations, forming a distinctive artistic style over time. María’s works are characterized by their whimsical charm and recognizability, with each ceramic piece resembling a miniature narrative world that captivates the viewer. By skillfully blending illustrative elements into her ceramics, she achieves a balance between the vivid liveliness of illustration and the rustic solidity of pottery. Artist Vipoo Srivilasa, born in Thailand, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics from Rangsit University, Bangkok in 1994, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Ceramics from Monash University, Melbourne in 1998. In 2021, he was honored with the Ceramic Artist of the Year award by the American Ceramic Society and currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. With over two decades of artistic practice, Vipoo has dedicated himself to addressing social issues and personal emotions—such as loneliness, nostalgia, joy, loss, and hope—through creations that are simple, beautiful, and uplifting.
